Oh Gal. With my first full pregnancy and son, we did the triple screen. It's very inaccurate -- The numbers eight years ago were 65-70% accuracy.

My numbers came back at 1 in 154. I freaked. My wonderful OB did her job letting me know that in Texas I had another week or so left to consider abortion. GASP. She was just doing her job.

Hubby and I get home and I freak out again and cry, and yada-yada. An amnio could confirm better numbers and that all way okay -- with a 1 in 200 miscarriage. No way.

I told my husband that I'd prayed so hard to have this baby that there was no way I couldn't keep it. It'd be slapping God in the face and he knows what he is doing.

My son was fine; we had pre-elcampsia and other risk factors together -- but he was healthy. With my daughter, I didn't even take that test.

My secretary at the time told me she had that triple screen with her first son and it came back positive for Downs. He was born perfect and so were the other six children she had.

So, I know your risk factors. But, good for you to not invest your mental state into it but into what you see.

When they did an additional sonogram the tech wouldn't tell me anything, but I was watching the numbers and had researched before the exam. Nukal (sp) fold was perfect for age and so were a lot of other numbers.

Hang tight Sweetie! Be optimistic.... Be healthy....
